Sam and Rick met the old fashion way, through a mutual friend, Pierre, at a local Boston Restaurant that they both loved going to, on a cold December night. They shared Coronas, Bang-Bang Cauliflower, great conversation and plenty of laughs. That night they shared their last first kiss.

Shortly thereafter, Rick was challenged with searching for a quaint and romantic restaurant for their first date. It was a slight challenge due to Sam’s love for great food in Boston. Finally, Rick found the perfect place, Alcove, a stylish Mediterranean restaurant in the West End. As the natural conversation continued from the night they first met, they learned they have so many common interests and hobbies, including food, sports and travel.

Over the years, Sam and Rick have created amazing and unique memories, They survived Covid in their one bedroom flat together, traveled around the country visiting friends and family, exploring the endless restaurants in the greater Boston area post Covid, attended concerts, and sporting events

The night of the proposal, Sam thought it was just going to be another dinner at the Chicago Club, and oh boy did she get that wrong. Rick and Sam had gone out to their favorite local spot for a pre-dinner cocktail since they had some time to spare. Sam, being the daughter that she is, was worried about Ray, her father, who, to her knowledge had no idea where they went to when they just left the house, when it was was their custom to always travel to dinner together. Rick calmed Sam down and texted Ray to let him know they would meet him at the Chicago Club (clearly preplanned.)

When Rick and Sam arrived, the team at the Chicago Club was extremely welcoming and escorted Sam and Rick up to the main ballroom, on the second floor, which had a roaring wood burning fire going (which Sam had asked to have dinner by earlier in the day). The Director of Food & beverage, came over to introduce himself and kindly asked if there was anything Rick and Sam needed, Rick said we are waiting on Ray.

At this point Rick suggested Sam to take a seat next to the fireplace, as they sat down next to the roaring fire, their lives forever changed, when Sam said “YES!”

Rick and Sam are so excited to make their union official and celebrate, laugh and dance with friends and family from around the world. Thanks to you all for being part of our story so far, and thanks for being there to celebrate our future.
